About Us
Sports Skillz Kidz (SSK), is an organization that uses sports to educate individuals from 18 months to 18-years, recognizing their unique and healthy curiosity. It runs five programs – Sports Skills (SK), Future Leaders’ Pathway (FLP), Active Kids Program, ADHD Intervention, and Mentorship. The earmarked vision is to embrace the welfare of children up to adolescents, which can sometimes be restrictive by society.
“My children took part in both the sports skills and future leaders’ pathway programs organized by Sports Skillz Kidz. It is amazing to see their transformation . . .
FLP is a masterclass program for individuals ages 3+ up to adolescents including those whose behaviours may be misunderstood; those who missed key cognitive and physical developmental stages; and those who require special encouragement or mental support at a critical time to reach their mild stones. Parents/carers can witness firsthand professionalism through skills and unique experiences initiating from the outset, critical thinkers. SSK will expand FLP into the wider communities across pre-kindergarten to high schools as an extra-curricular activity within both the public and private arenas. The program has already significantly transformed the lives of children especially those who identify as neurodivergent. FLP will continue to transcend dynamic energy into the lives of everyone who joins the program
Why Choose Sports Skillz Kidz?
It is a fact that all children including toddlers need the opportunity to have locomotor, stability, and manipulative skills such as hopping, stretching, catching, jumping, climbing, walking, running, throwing, kicking, and much more. The SK program associates all the essential skills with the intension of enhancing child development. Many people are familiar with the term ’child development’. So, what is, ‘child development’? The United Nations Convention of Human Rights (UNCHR) does not specifically define Child Development. However, UNCHR Article 1, constitutes a ‘child’ as everyone under the age of 18. Under US law. “A child usually refers to an individual who is a minor, who is below the legal age or the age of maturity where the age of maturity is 18 in most states. When a child is below the age of maturity, it means that the child will have fewer rights but also less responsibilities than those who have reached the age of maturity”. Meanwhile, child development according to NSPCC refers to the ‘physical, cognitive, and social growth that occurs throughout a child’s life’. It is imperative to highlight that both World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations (UN) define ‘Adolescent’ as the 10 to 19 age group. According to worldviews, 0-5 years matter. Therefore, the sports skills service provided from 18 months to five years is immaculate for every child’ physical wellness while developing brain power.
